Field of
Screams
A mile and more of dark woods, a slaughterhouse, a carnival that never should have opened, and 24 seasons of screaming.
The comeback
The field went quiet.
Something is growing back.
After 24 seasons, Field of Screams went dark in 2025 and 2026 for the biggest rebuild in its history. The plan for 2027: a redesigned trail with 22 all-new stations, an updated haunted house, and new lighting and sound from the parking lot to the last cabin in the woods.
Dates and tickets haven't been announced yet. Follow along so you hear first.
Lights out for two seasons.
Back in 2027.
What's out there
Four ways to lose your nerve
The Haunted Trail
The main event. A one-way walk of a mile or more through pitch-black woods, past dozens of shacks and cabins, each one its own nightmare. The last season's story was Camp Fear: a campground where the party ended badly.
- About 45–60 minutes
- 55+ stations last season
- 22 all-new stations planned
FACTORY
Slaughter Factory
The indoor haunted house, and your first stop. A meat plant whose owner lost his mind and changed what goes into the grinder. Buzz saws, butchers and a smell you'll remember.
- Indoor haunt
- An update is planned for 2027
Carnival Town
The midway where everyone gathers. Throw an axe at a zombie, smash a brain, ring a skeleton's arm, and feed beanbags to a jack-o'-lantern that bites back. Clowns wander. Don't make eye contact.
- Axe throwing
- Zombie Brain Smash
- Crypt Ring Toss
Bonfires & Treats
Warm up on hay bales around the fire pits before (or after) the woods. S'mores kits, funnel cakes, fried Oreos and hot drinks at the stands.
- Fire pits + hay-bale seats
- S'mores kits

Walk the map
Tap a glowing marker to explore. Press Walk the trail to send a lantern into the woods, or switch the lights off and use your own flashlight.
Swipe the map to look around. An illustrated fan map, not to scale. The 2027 layout may change.
Through the years
24 seasons of screams
Every season's photos and videos live on the official galleries. Went last time? Your on-site photo might be waiting.
Can't wait for 2027?
Candy Corn Panic
Walk the trail at night through the cornfield, the graveyard and Carnival Town, then turn left into the Slaughter Factory before the woods. You have candy corn, five axes and nerves of steel. Survive The Harvester.
- Two ways to play: Scary (14+) or Spooky (under 14)
- Press A or tap AXE: five axes that cut through anything
- Blood pouches in the factory (slime in Spooky)
Tap or click to throw · press A for an axe · works on phones

When does it open in 2027?
Dates and tickets for the 2027 return haven't been announced. Seasons usually run from late September through Halloween, on Fridays, Saturdays and many Thursdays and Sundays.
How scary is it? Can kids come?
It's an intense, live-actor haunt. It isn't recommended for kids under 13, and parents decide. The only guests not allowed are infants.
What did tickets cost?
One timed online ticket (the Screams Pass) covered the trail and the Slaughter Factory. In the last season it started around $54 online. Carnival games are paid on site.
What if it rains?
Steady rain or storms close the field, and ticket holders get another date. Closures are posted on the official social pages.
Parking? Food? Rules?
Parking is free on site. There's food at the stands, but no outside food or alcohol. Costumes are fine, but full-face masks aren't. Phones, cameras and flashlights stay put away on the trail.
